Guacamayos, “HINCHA”<\/strong> is the word we use in Spanish to refer to fans of something or someone. This word emerged in the early 20th century and originated in Montevideo, Uruguay. <\/p>\n\n

The term “hincha” was initially used to refer to soccer fans; it is common for people to say, “I’m a fan of Atl\u00e9tico Bucaramanga,” or to refer to a team’s fan base as “the team’s supporters.” Although the term originated in the context of soccer, you\u2019ll also find it used to refer to someone who supports another person in any context where there may be competition\u2014for example, in politics. <\/p>\n\n

Although it was originally a soccer term, it has a very unique history, which I’ll tell you about in this video.<\/p>\n\n
