During the language tourism weeks you will experience an unforgettable vacation because every day a series of Spanish lessons and surprise activities are designed for you to put your Spanish into practice and discover the best of Colombian culture and the tourist attractions of the region.

Language tourism week activities in Santa Marta

In our programs, the surprise factor is always in the air and that is one of our secrets to make learning Spanish very effective. However, here are some of the activities that are part of the program of the language tourism week in Santa Marta.

• Exhibition of music and folkloric dance of the Colombian Caribbean.
• Visit the Tayrona Gold Museum and learn about the culture of the indigenous people of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
• Visit to a coffee plantation in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
• Ecological hike.
• Caribbean cooking class.
• Boat ride.
• Visit to the municipal market.
• Tour in the historic center of Santa Marta.
• Taste of exotic fruits.

Academic content of the classes:

• Basic Spanish for socializing
• Physical descriptions in Spanish
• Increasing vocabulary from the roots
• The 4 past tenses of the indicative tense in Spanish and their uses
• Communication skills for negotiating in Spanish
• The imperative to give instructions
• Kitchen vocabulary
• Spanish for storytelling

For whom this trip is ideal

Spanish level: Is ideal for people who have a level of Spanish equal to or higher than level A2. Although we have content for everyone, we have a series of exercises that can be adapted to different levels of language proficiency. It is possible that people come with companions who do not speak Spanish, we can make special guides for them in English, although they would not be part of the daily Spanish lesson we have every day.

Age:
the trip is for people over 18 years of age.

Physical condition: Due to the conditions of the environment, means of transportation and the type of activities that we will have, it is suggested that people with the ability to move freely can do and enjoy walking (there is a day in which we can have 1 km hikes in the mountain). If you have any dietary restrictions, you must notify us in advance.

Interest: Anyone who is curious about Colombia, who enjoys the music, the beach, the flavors of the Caribbean, anyone who wants to learn about new cultures, who is passionate about the world and its diversity and is encouraged to try new experiences, will be a person who can fully enjoy the week of language tourism.

What is the price of the experience and what is included?

Thisexperience is $2790 USD per person, or $4390 USD per couple if sharing a room.

Included in that money:

• Admission to the activities mentioned in the program
• Welcome kit: trip book, hat, trip t-shirt, notebook, pencil and Spanish tula with Maria.
• Lodging in private room for 6 nights and 7 days (if you are a couple traveling together, you share the room)
• Transportation from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport.
• Tourist guide in each of the destinations we will visit.
• A daily Spanish class and accompaniment by Maria in the activities.
• 6 Breakfasts at the place of lodging
• Water and snacks daily.
• Hotel insurance: however, the student must have additional travel insurance that covers accidents.
• Transportation from the hotel to each of the day’s activities.
• Photographic record of the trip.
• Transportation from Medellín to Guatapé and back.
• Guided tours of the activities.

To reserve your space, you must pay 500 USD as soon as possible and then you have the possibility to pay the remaining amount (2090 USD in up to 3 payments that you can make up to 20 days before the start date). – If you want to pay in installments, please write me at maria@espanolconmaria.com

Each participant must have travel insurance, which is not included in the registration fee.

Airfare is not included, nor anything that has not been explicitly detailed here. Participants are responsible for arriving at the meeting point on the starting day of activities.
