It is the perfect combination of relaxation, adventure and learning. During the language tourism weeks you will experience an unforgettable vacation because every day a series of Spanish lessons and surprise activities are designed for you to put your Spanish into practice and discover the best of Colombian culture and the tourist attractions of the region.

Activities of the language tourism week in Santander

In our programs, the surprise factor is always in the air and that is one of our secrets to make learning Spanish very effective. However, here are some of the activities that are part of the program of the language tourism week in Santander.

• Tour in Bucaramanga
• Tour in Charalá
• Tour in Barichara
• Visit to Cerro del Santísimo, where the largest standing sculpture in Latin America is located.
• Visit to the Chicamocha National Park, a natural canyon deeper than the Colorado Canyon in the United States.
• Horseback riding through the mountains in Charalá
• Visit and bathing in waterfalls and natural wells
• Ancestral crafts workshop
• Regional cooking class

Academic content of the classes:

• Tutear and ustear
• The imperative, beyond orders
• Conditional sentences using the subjunctive
• The difference between the imperfect preterite and the indefinite preterite.
• Spanish to persuade: sales and ideologies.
• Structures of politeness in Spanish.

We visited 5 municipalities, slept in 3 of them

• The trip starts in Bucaramanga, we will stay 1 night and the next day we will travel to Charalá and sleep there in a hotel for 2 nights. Afterwards we will go to Barichara and also sleep 2 nights. Finally, we returned to Bucaramanga to spend the last night there.

For whom this trip is ideal

Spanish level: it is ideal for people who have a level of Spanish equal to or higher than A2. Although we have content for everyone, we have a series of exercises that can be adapted to different levels of language proficiency. It is possible that people come with companions who do not speak Spanish, we can make special guides for them in English, although they would not be part of the daily Spanish lesson we have every day.

Age: the trip is for people over 18 years old.

Physical condition: However, due to the conditions of the environment and the type of activities we will have, it is suggested that they be people with the ability to move freely so that they can make and enjoy the walking trips (there is a day in which we can have walks of 1 km in the mountains) and also that they can withstand the climate of Santa Marta, because in the city it is a temperature above 30 degrees Celsius. If you have any dietary restrictions, you must notify us in advance.

Interest: Anyone who is curious about Colombia, who enjoys the music, the mountains, the flavors of the Andes, anyone who wants to learn about new cultures, who is passionate about the world and its diversity and is encouraged to try new experiences, will be a person who can fully enjoy the week of language tourism.

What is the price of the experience and what is included?

Thisexperience is $2790 USD per person, or $4390 USD per couple if sharing a room.

Included in that money:

• Admission to the activities mentioned in the program
• Welcome kit: trip book, hat, trip t-shirt, notebook, pencil and Spanish tula with Maria.
• Lodging in private room for 6 nights and 7 days (if you are a couple traveling together, you share the room)
• Transportation from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport.
• Tourist guide in each of the destinations we will visit.
• A daily Spanish class and accompaniment by Maria in the activities.
• Traditional cooking class.
• Traditional arts and crafts class.

• Entrance to the Juan Curí Ecopark.
• 6 Breakfasts at the place of lodging
• Lunch or brunch 6 days according to the week’s schedule
• Water and snacks daily.
• Hotel insurance: however, the student must have additional travel insurance that covers accidents.
• Transportation from the hotel to each of the day’s activities.
• Transportation from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport.
• Photographic record of the trip.
• Transportation from Bucaramanga to Charalá, from Charalá to Barichara and from Barichara to Bucaramanga.

To reserve your space, you must pay 500 USD as soon as possible and then you have the possibility to pay the remaining amount (2090 USD in up to 3 payments that you can make up to 20 days before the start date).
